When we would be deploying or installing different types of pressure gauges in fluid lines and vessels; we need to also consider about some accessories that would protect the pressure gauges from different types of damages due to adverse working conditions. We can make effective use of Pressure Snubber that is mounted just below the dial of the pressure gauge.
The pressure snubber would be just a small accessory that would protect the mechanism in the pressure gauge from pulses and vibrations. If the pressure gauge would be connected to the high pressure or turbulent fluid line; there would be chances of the pulsation and vibrations of the fluid reaching the dial and the needle of the pressure gauge. This hampers the stability of the needle. Thus it would be tedious to get the exact pressure reading through the gauge as the needle would not be stagnant on a particular value.
Apart from difficulty in getting the precise reading of pressure; another major issue would be the severe damage to the instrument due to adverse working conditions. Thus we may need to replace the pressure gauges frequently. This would be unnecessary addition to the overheads that we cannot really afford.
